The metal muff is an awsome sounding pedal. You can play any type of rock to black/death metal. its made all of metal no plastic so its very durible. the only thing that sucks about it is the battery. you have to take the bottom panel off which is 4 screws. Other than that its VERY NICE! BUY IT!
I have a bunch of distortions, and this is one of my favorites-I love this pedal in front of lo-watt amps!-extra Q, and level controls give brutal tight distortion-Manages to do a death metal sounds with only a fraction of the noise & hiss of other pedals. Preserves the integrity of your axe/pickup character,too. Top Boost feature is over the top, even at low levels:not for every amp. Great for 3 stage "Clean/Grind/Lead" setup. Less useful with high gain heads-this pedal is metal distortion ONLY-not a booster, or overdrive. This box sounds so heavy, you can't run it into a distorted head-smashes the tone to smithereens-but into a clean channel, it is in it's element. Sounds so good in fact, I've rethought my sounds based on having this distortion in the equation. The metal muff isn't perfect, but the fact that I'm using it on a daily basis since acquiring it is the basis for a solid recommendation-It's built like a 'blackbox' from a plane, rugged all metal construction, that will withstand years of punishment. I LOVE this pedal. I play through all tube amp, use several different guitars, doesn't seem to matter which though. EMG's, dimarzios, duncans, whatever, this pedal has enough ability to tweak it with all the knobs that it will blow you away. It has perfect metal settings of course, hence the name..nuff said..Blues tones are awesome as well. Now, you stomp on the boost and lead playing just comes ALIVE! THis is the HOTTEST pedal in my board! Oh and mix it with your screamer for even more fun.
This is by far the best metal pedal ever. I can get everything from thrash to death to black metal by barely turning the nobs. they are extremely touchy making a very versetel pedal. the top boost is great for those solos or leads that you want to be heard above everything else. great pedal, and definately worth the price.
