"Does the trick"

I got this pedal to help keep a grip on my volumes for band practice and gigs. It does a nice job...no noise, just clean tone. I like the tube setting the best...seems to give a nice subtle flavor to my bass sound. The multiband setting is also great...you can adjust thresholds for bass and treble independently. I use a light to moderate amount of compression which seems to really help out. Unlike a lot of rackmount effects...I can easily turn this pedal on and off in the middle of a song with a simple foot click. These types of effects take some getting used to and experimentation. Compression is by no means a cure all for volume/sustain control....you still need to be a dynamic player...but it does provide a nice base to start from. Overall a very good pedal.

"Tube sim is excellent!"

I run this pedal in front of a SansAmp Bass Driver and then into the effects return on my head. I use the tubesim and lean on the compression almost all the way. Sounds exactly like a fridge with an all-tube classic head. LOVE IT!!! If you're looking for a more squashed sound, this is not for you. But if you want to tighten up your sound while smoothing out the peaks, you have found the right piece of equipment.

"Great Compressor"

This compressor does its job and does it well. It's pretty transparent on normal and multi-band settings and enhances tone subtly in tube sim mode. It's also not noisy and keeps the low end on my bass sound. I don't see myself switching compressors any time soon.
