I bought this pick-holder for my old beater Washburn X-25. Though it's not my nicest guitar by any means, it is the one I'm most familiar with, and I always have it laying around ready for me to pick it up and practice. The pick holder serves a dual purpose: It is a convenient place to put picks and it covers up the "made in china" stamp on the back of the headstock (I've modified the guitar so much that it's 50% made in USA now). I just don't like sticking picks in the strings; I'm not sure why.
I like little jazz picks, and this does the job. However it's meant for standard size picks, which are much easier to insert and remove from the holder. The holder is only useful as an emergency pick supply for playing live if used with thin standard-sized picks. It works great in that case. I've had no trouble with picks falling out.
I have to say that it is larger than I expected. Even so, it actually looks natural placed next to the tuners on the back of the headstock. Its much less conspicuous than I thought it would be. It probably wouldn't look too bad stuck on a pickguard or rear panel on a guitar. I don't like the idea of sticking anything directly on my guitar's finish, though.
This is a nice little thing to throw into your cart to help get you to the correct amount of money to get free shipping or a bigger discount.
