"My favorite capo"

Hands down, this is my favorite capo. It works with over 90% of guitars. Lightweight and easy to adjust. There are four positions fo the rubber (this is adjusted only once) and three for the lever. Normally, you leave it on once installed and just slip it over the nut when not in use. It is wide enough to accommodate a 2 1/16 width classical guitar easily and clamps well enough for 12 strings. I clamp as close to the crown of the fret as possible and never have intonation problems -- even on my Martin D12-35.It won't work on every guitar, however: on 28 style Martins and others that use a diamond volute, it might not easily slip over the nut when not in use. If the neck profile (back of the neck to the top of the frets) is too flat, this capo won't work at all.The price is low enough to keep on in every case. I own over 40 guitars and have only three that cannot use this. On one electric, the profile is too flat, one one classical, the profile is too thick, on the third (an old Martin 000-28) the volute makes it so that I have to remove the capo when not in use which I find inconvenient when playin live.

I purchased this capo about a week ago and I was immediately impressed. The picker's pal produces a very nice sound, even clamping, and durability. The only down side would be that it takes a some getting used to to be able to apply and remove it from the neck quickly. Over all five out of five stars.

I have owned this same capo for 20 years (yep, since 1985) and it has ALWAYS been reliable and provided superior clamping on the neck, no matter which guitar I have played. Curved necks are no problem since you can rotate the sleeve into different positions for both curved and flat necks. Produces nice clear tone. The clamping cam adjusts for different depth (thickness) necks easily. The rubber sleeve never wears out (it looks as good as it did when I first purchased it). This is the best capo on the market especially for the price. You won't be disappointed. We are now purchasing another one for my son who is just learning the guitar. I have always just removed it when not in use and placed it on the guitar strap as it is so easy to slip on and off.Works reliably, inexpensive, and easy to use, this is a winner.

"holds pitch very well. No dead strings"

I like the way this capo holds the strings down with no deadning of the strings. The only thing that could be improved is the ease in moving and removing it from the neck.

"my pal"

These are great capos and the price sure is right. I play a lot of Gordon Lightfoot music on my 12 string and what I do is use a Shubb (sorry) capo to cover the five strings (A to high E) on the third fret. Leave the low E string open. But here's where the Pickers Pal comes in. If you use it to cover the first fret (as long as the low E string is covered it's ok, and play the D chord you'll have the "drop D" tuning which is really the key of F. Lightfoot plays a lot of his tunes here and as long as you have the "Pal" covering the low E string on the first fret you're ok.
