O.K. first off, this is not some high tech piece of incredible engineering. After always wrestling while changing my strings, with the guitar slipping and sliding over the table while at the same time trying to maintain position and tension of the new string, I splurged and bought the Dunlop maintenance station. I just now changed my strings which prompted me to sit down and write this review. All I can say is I wish I had bought this sooner. It has non-slip pads on the base and in the cradle, which held the guitar neck very securly without any movement what so ever and at the same time, protecting my equipment. You can rotate the cradle to it's flat surface so you can lay the fretboard down flat to work on the back if necessary. Changing strings was a pleasure. Simple device- yes. Does it work- yes.
