DigiTech XSW Synth Wah Envelope Filter PedalX Series Single-Effect Pedals (This isn't your same old stomp box!)
The Compression/Sustainer and Envelope Filter Pedals rounding out DigiTech's Top Ten list of cool pedals are the Main Squeeze(TM) compression/sustainer pedal and the Synth Wah(TM) envelope filter. These effects are at the top of every guitarist's list of hot stompboxes for their stage arsenal.
The Synth Wah(TM) envelope filter doesn't cop out by giving you only one sound to work with and try to tweak. Use the first setting to play any kind of funk music, or even Jerry Garcia-style solos. Settings 3-4 are great for Herbie Hancock 70s and 80s synth sounds on single note lines. Really fun to play!
This is DigiTech's best pedal when comparing to others pedals of the same effect. This thing has some awesome sounds. If your looking for a heavy and I mean HEAVY sound get this with some type of distortion. METAL MASTER or METAL ZONE. Definitely an awesome pedal. One problem is that it's hard to get the setting perfect.
I was originally looking at getting a Boss AutoWah but after I played it, i wasn't that impressed (especially b/c I already have a Dunlop Crybaby). I came across this pedal on the same day and ended up playing it -- needless to say, it was FUN to play!! I bought it 4 months ago and it's been sweet "trick" pedal to have in my signal loop. It's not something you would strum chords with (unless maybe you switch to 7-autowah), but it's sounds AWESOME on funky single note riffs -- especially w/ an EQ pedal pumping the low-end. I especially like settings 3, 4, and 5. I set Sens to 2 o'clock, control at 10, and range at 12 and just switch between the different types while playing...if you get the chance to mess around with this, try it out and I promise you'll love the "funk" you can get out of it!
This pedal is absolutely amazing. Seven different sounds you can make. It's just an awesome pedal. This pedal is really good in intro, or pre-chorus effects. It is also really good for funk riffs and it is kind of cool to throw in randomly in a jam. The pedal is very sturdy, very strong. It is also smaller than I expected it to be. The only downside of this pedal is that like the metal master, it eats batteries, so get the 9v adapter when you get this. I highly recommend this pedal if you're looking for some really out there, and creative sounds to add to your loop.
7 Different Effects on ONE pedal! I couldn't exactly comprehend that idea when I first saw it in GuitarWorld. But sure enough when I tried it out I was hooked. The first 2 modes are really nice envelope filters that can give you a little funk burst. The 3rd mode is one of my favorite sounds, it's a heavy wah type of sound. The 4th mode is a really buzzy electric sound and it's pretty cool for solo applications. The 5th and 6th modes are both voice synth sounds, they can be cool but if you use them too much it's really annoying. The last mode is the autowah which is a wah sound with a controlled speed and depth, it's good for lighter slower stuff in my opinion. All in All, This pedal is great and I would advise you to buy it.
