  • Cab modeling out
  • Level, Tone, Gain, and Morph controls
  • Studio-quality sound

DigiTech XHR Hot Rod Distortion Pedal
X Series Single-Effect Pedals (This isn't your mothers old stomp box!)

Digitech found that three was the perfect number of distortion pedals to start with. Each one utilizes DigiTech's exclusive multi-distortion technology, which gives you a near endless supply of distortion types compared to single distortion pedals found elsewhere.

The three distortion pedals include the Metal Master(TM) for those who lean strongly towards head-banging for a living, the Hot Rod(TM) which delivers powerful, but smooth rock distortion, and the Tone Driver(TM) for guitarists who live for overdrive crunch.

Each distortion stompbox features a huge range of different distortion types that can be morphed into different combinations as you rotate our exclusive Distortion Morph knob. This gives you a near unlimited supply of combinations. Now, you are no longer stuck with only one distortion type in a pedal.

But that's not all. There are two outputs, one for normal signal out, and one that features advanced cabinet modeling for live and recording direct-to-board applications. And instead of the standard stompbox tone controls, we've even incorporated our innovative spectral-contouring EQ, which delivers a far greater tone range than other distortion stompboxes.

This pedal is awesome. I've had it since my 1st guitar and now I'm on my 3rd. I recommend this pedal to anyone, whether a beginner or an experienced guitarist.

Excellent quality of distortion, with much versatility. Using the button "Morph", I got 7 different distortions! A great competitor for excellent Boss DS-2.

"Better than Boss DS-1 or DS-2"

An incredible distortion pedal. You can use it to faithfully emulate pretty much any rock tone. I was able to achieve my personal goal, namely, to replicate Jimmy Page's tone in Led Zeppelin II. The pedal is quiet, unlike the Boss DS-1/DS-2 which hisses a lot. Using the morph switch, you can switch from the ProCo RAT sound to Boss DS-1 to Arbiter Fuzz Face, and get varying mixes of the three in between. If you play rock music, no matter whether it's classic or modern, you cannot go wrong with this pedal!

This pedal is way worth the money. I had to decide from the metal distortion and this. The difference is the metal distortion is only has one sound that just differs a bit when you change the morph. With the hot rod you go from deep and grungy sound to fuzzy. I prefer to put the chord in the OUT 1. Both are nice and really rock. This is one of the best pedals out there even if you have to pay with your own money like I did.

with all of my other pedals, I could never get the tone or sound that I wanted. now I can. the hot rod distortion is an incredibly versatile distortion pedal. it can go from a smooth sounding proco rat dist. to a crunchy ds-1 sound, or even an arbiter fuzz face. its like having all three pedals in one, plus you can blend them together and make your own sound. this is by far the best pedal I own
