This is the most awesome toy to come along in a long time! I plugged my guitar and mic into my amp, the next thing I knew I sounded like the Eagles! I don't have a strong lead voice but with the Vocalist 4, I sound better than my lead singer! This is truly the best harmonizer out there! Plug and play is the truth! This will pay for itself in just a few gigs!

well if you enjoy backup vocals here it is.I purchase one on these a month ago and after using the VR for 3 years then replacing it with the live 4 was the smartest thing I've done in a while.By tuning your guitar with built in tuner you can have 4 part harmony and doubles, effects on voice and guitar and vocoder, pitch corrections and much more.It really sounds like someone singing with you and it follows key changes by following your guitar. If your group or if your doin singles you need this if you need harmonys. Its easy to program, read and use if you can read the book once you got it made.Great piece of equiptment for what it does.I highly recomend it after all the effects I've used in my forty plus years of playing.

After reading what little reviews were out there on this product, I took a leap of faith on the Digitech name, and purchased the Vocalist 4. It turns out that I was correct in my judgement, and then some!! As an active musician, this piece of equipment is the perfect addition to any band. I sing leads and backups, and this machine makes playing out so much easier. The unit itself is very durable and its design gives it adequate protection to the occasional bumps and bangs of set ups and tear downs. The presets on the unit are very good for a majority of background harmonies, as long as you pay attention to what key you need the harmonies in and adjust your vocals to achieve that. The built in tuner is a fantastic feature as it optimizes the quality of harmonies in relationship to the guitar chord progressions. It also makes a good mic mute between sets! The ability to adjust the parameters on the voicings are nice, because it is relatively user friendly and sometimes a little tweak on reverb or chorus makes all the difference! Rather than go on and on about this machine, my best advice to all the guitarist/singers out there is to take that leap and buy this unit. Once you have it, take the time to experiment with it. Hopefully, you won't be disappointed!

I've added this great piece of gear to my arsenal in my solo gigs. Audiences can't believe it's all happening live, and many times i must prove it to them by goofing around with it a bit. Here's what's great- i also play keys and i've rigged up a mix that feeds simple chords from my keyboard to the input and it works just fine in place of guitar chords. That leaves me to play guitar with a lot more freedom because the unit doesn't have to "track" my guitar playing because it's "tracking" the keyboard part.. Has worked flawlessly so far and really gives me an edge on what songs i can do now.

I have seen the video's online from the NAMM show and at the product site. They look incredible. If this thing does what it seems to do, it will totally change the way I perform. I love being a solo artist, but would like to have the harmony's to many of the songs that I do. If this thing works, I will be able to get a second performer with out paying them. Also I think it will be great for recording. The hardest part about dubbing vocals is getting the timing right. If you can lay down harmonies and unison tracks at the same time you record the lead, you will be able to save a ton of time.
