The pedal Hot Head, has the distortion sound that I use in my solos: it is shaped, and the tonal controls make possible some different combinations. Output to mixer, with the "Audio technology DNA" it is an excellent resource. Excellent purchase!

This box is like the classic DS-1 Boss. Good for heavy, classic rock. It's definitely more powerful then the the blues one and bad monkey one. I tried them all at the store recently to compare. The hot rod one is more expensive but seems interesting. Seems like you can get this sound plus some others.

When plugged into an amp, Digitech's Hot Head sounds a lot like a Boss DS-1. However, since it has more EQ, it is a lot easier to dial in a sound with. The cabinet emulation output works okay going direct into a mixer in a pinch, but this pedal sounds much better plugged into a guitar amp.This is one heck of a tool for heavy rock. In terms of distortion, it offers more than what the typical overdrive pedal provides. The distortion is somewhat smoother sounding compared to many other distortion pedals on the market. The Hot Head will probably become an instant classic. My only beef with it is quite minor. Digitech should package it with a power supply, because it will drain a battery fairly quickly. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give this pedal a 10. Considering other distortion pedals can sell for twice its' retail, don't have the features, and don't sound as good, this is quite a bargain.

This Pedal is amazing has an excellent classic rock kinda sound to it I really enjoy playing on this pedal I've dropped this thing like four times on accident and it still holds up real well so I definitely recommend this Pedal to anyone who wants TO MELTS PEOPLE FACES OFF!!! lol

This is my first pedal ever. It does the job. Enough knob to tweak the monster. The only thing is that when its on I hear a background noise in my amp. It could be something else tho. Great rock distortion, the booklet gives you 4 suggestions of tweaking also. Great for the price and its built like a tank.
