This is everything you would expect from DW: Great quality and easy to use. It has very smooth action, and it's tension adjustable. I was initially concerned about the stability of this stand, but each of the three rubber tips has built in, spring loaded spurs and the heel plate has velcro on he bottom. No concerns anymore! I didn't even tighten the spurs down at all, and the velcro held firm to my drum rug. Another cool thing about this stand is that it comes with two different pull-rods, a long and a short. This is great for versatility and will handle a very wide range of height adjustments. Each leg of the base protrudes about 10" from the center shaft, and holds the stand very sturdy. I wouldn't use this stand if you have a double pedal, but for single pedal setups, it will be a breeze to put this stand's legs under your snare and cymbal stand tripods. The brace that connects the underside of the pedal to the main shaft of the stand holds the pedal securely via a notch cut out in the brace that fits over a drumkey bolt (like a hook) but is a little awkward to adjust when the legs are in playing position. The brace doesn't get super tight; it allows the pedal to "float" up and down to contour to the surface it's on. Once it's setup and on a solid foundation, there is no movement at all. It can't go down because of the floor, and it can't go up because the velcro keeps it on the floor! The only minor complaint I have: The seat (the part that holds the bottom cymbal)has a wider hole at the top (where the pull rod passes through it) than it should. The hole is a little wider than the pull rod, so the pull rod wobbles back and forth a bit in the upper tube, even though both the pull rod and upper tube are tight. It's very minor though, but I still expected a little better attention to detail because it is a DW.Overall, a superb, lightweight hi hat stand that will serve you well for years to come!
