I have to admit this board is incredible. At first I thought that because it eas a casio it would suck like most other casios, but the wk 3800 is on another level. This board has a sick Hammond Organ sound. The organ on this board is sick. I remember one time I was listening to a tape that i did about three months prior and I heard the organ playing, if i could swear I would I thought it was the hammond b3 at my church. The only way that I realized that it was the keyboard was because I had quickly switched to the piano. Also, this board board has some piano sounds that will run next to the roland and motif ( 4 real). The electric piano, br. piano, soft electic piano, and the modern piano are sick. This board is like having a Motif or Triton without the high quality recording capabilities ( although it does have some pretty good recording capabilities). Overall its the best casio to hit the keyboard market. This board can easily run along side a motif or any high priced board, this one is just a fraction of the price of those boards.

Casio has made some cult classics over the years and I suppose they have also made a lot of junk. Lucky for you this keyboard workstation doesn't fall into the latter category. You could record an album with this keyboard, and while it may not be the best piano and organ sounds ever put to tape it would not sound bad either, it is that good. This board is amazing and the sounds have a warmth to them that is hard to describe. I feel that a lot of digital keyboards just sound too cold and polished. The WK series sounds warm and real, and the organs and pianos are first rate. The effects are also worth noting. They really let you dirty things up and get creative if you choose to. If you like mellotrons and such lo-fi keyboards you will love the lo-fi effects available on this machine. This is not to say that it can't be pristine if you choose to make it so. It just seems to me most of the time digital does pristine really well, but dirty badly. This is one exception. Some stand outs to me are the vibraphone, the stereo piano, the the electric pianos, and of course the drawbar organ with digital drawbars and the leslie controlled through the mod wheel. You can change what the mod wheel controls too, so if you would rather control the drive of the organ that is possible. This is one of the many thoughtful touches done on this board.

I bought my wk 3800 Dec. 2008. After being a Yamaha owner for 13 years I was skeptical about buying a casio, but after playing this board I am not dissapointed in my purchase. I play a Hammond organ at church and this boards organ sounds are wonderful, as are the pianos and electric pianos. I also play for many, many funerals at a local funeral home, they have a Yamaha digital piano that they paid over twice as much for and I like my Casio better. The rhythm accomp. on the Yamaha has 1 intro/ending the Casio has 2. Yamaha has 1 variation/fill in the Casio has two plus a fill in/next button to advance to the next variation. I could go on and on if I had the room. This keyboard really surprised me. I still love Yamaha but I love my Casio too. A lot of people knock Casio but this Wk 3800 does everything and more than keyboards that cost a whole lot more, and sounds great doing it.
