Why Buy

The wide and flat frequency response of the CAD C195 provides unsurpassed natural transparent sound quality. The cardioid pickup pattern minimizes annoying feedback (when used close to sound reinforcement speakers and monitors) and reduces the pickup of unwanted off-axis sounds. A transformerless electronic design provides optimum low frequency response and low distortion. An effective internal multistage pop filter minimizes wind and breath noise.

CAD C195

The CAD C195 has a Flex-Form(TM) hardened steel grille screen that dramatically resists deformation while greatly reducing any risk of adverse performance caused by a bent or dented ball screen. This unique ability to retain its original shape assures that the CAD C195 will maintain its attractive appearance.

The CAD C195 features the CAD exclusive (I.N.R.-3(TM)) Impact Noise Rejection system. Our proprietary rubber shock mount isolates the transducer from the barrel, thus dramatically reducing cable, stand and handling noise. The need for any external shock mounting device is virtually eliminated.

The low-frequency response of the CAD C195 may be enhanced by increasing or decreasing the distance from the sound source. This phenomenon is technically known as "proximity effect". Nominal or "flat" response is generated at a distance of 24 inches or more. However, as the distance to the sound source decreases, the bass sensitivity increases, providing a solid, robust character.

The CAD C195 is supplied complete with a zippered vinyl protective pouch and a snap-in microphone swivel-mount.

Requires phantom power. The CAD C195 is a superior low-noise, electret condenser cardioid microphone designed for professional vocalists and musicians. It provides the performance and features to satisfy today's most demanding professionals.

These Microphones are absolutely amazing. Extrememly accurate and the proximity effect is wonderful for bringing out robust bass tones in your voice that would otherwise be missed by other microphones. nice crisp highs too. I have only used this for vocals both live and in studio. works incredible in both places. just be careful in live situations if you get too close to speakers as it will feedback. Thats my only minor beef. IIts my favourite of all mics.THE PRICE WAS THE BEST TOO.

I HAVE SANG THRU A LOT OF MIC'S AND I ENJOY THIS MICROPHONE THE BEST. CRISP, CLEAR HIGHS... ACCURATE MIDS & LOWS...IT WORKS WELL FOR BASS VOCALISTS TOO! FOR ME, I JUST ADD A LITTLE TREBLE AND SOME FX AND ITS HARD TO BEAT, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE.I LIKED THIS MIC SO MUCH I HAVE 3 IN MY COLLECTION. I ALSO ENCOURAGED MY CHURCH TO BUY A COUPLE WHICH THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY COMPLAINTS. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THAT ITS A LITTLE SENSITIVE TO FEEDBACK, SO KEEP IT AWAY FROM THE SPEAKERS.

"If I could only have one style mic, it would be this one!"

I have to say, this is one of my favorite "goto" mics when tracking someone who is both singing and playing an acoustic instrument. The way these mics can protect against off-axis sounds is a testimony to their design. With proper micing techniques, these condensors do a wonderful job of picking up their source with negligible bleed-over. These do provide a proximity effect that I actually find quite pleasing in some vocal tracks. Just keep in mind that they have no bass roll-off switches or gain pads onboard, so you will have to be aware of the signal coming into your mixer/recorder and EQ appropriately. It really is true, if I was forced to only have one type of microphone, it would be this microphone. I have a few other style condensor mics and a few types of dynamic mics in my studio, but this one is my most versitile.
