My parents bought me my prestige as a high school graduation gift. I am currently a music major in a Texas university and I cannot explain how wonderful this clarinet is. The sound and appearance of this horn is out of this world...it gives you such a warm and beautiful sound. I highly recommend this clarinet to serious clarinetists. You will not be disappointed.
I probably have quite a bit less experience than quite a lot of clarinetists, but having played it for 7 years I have never played a clarinet quite so smooth over the registers, especially when going over the break. I tried it out against the E11 and although the E11 was smooth, the smoothness of the R13 shined through.I am now the proud owner of an R13 and wouldn't swap it for any other clarinet!
I recently purchased the Buffet R13 Prestige and I couldn't be happier with it. The tone is so fluid and warm, and it jumps easily across the registers. I used to play on a Selmer intermediate model, and this clarinet has really made the difference in my playing. I would most definitely recommend this clarinet to anyone who is willing to spend the money on it. It is definitely worth it.
I think that this R13 clarinet is the best wood clarinet I've ever played. It produces the best sound. It makes you more in tune,and it makes you sound better. R13's rock.
