The Buffet R13 is the best instrument a musician can get. There's no need to pay the big bucks for the Prestige or Festival because the basic R13 is the number one. Not all wood clarinets are the same, though. If you can have a professional musicians who really knows clarinets try them out for you, DO IT! You can't go wrong with an R13 though. P.S. Check for cracks before you buy! And don't let your wood clarinets get cold! They'll crack!
The reason why I say this clarinet is fantastic because it is just that. The R-13 is so even in all registers which I why I play on an R-13. The tuning of this instrument is wonderful barley have to pull out either in the barrel or middle of the clarinet. This clarinet I recommend to the serious student and all clarinetists who are looking for a clarinet that will last them for the rest of their lives. Just wonderful.
