Years ago, I owned a GT-3. I regretted ever getting rid of that pedal. So, when the GT-10 was released, I picked one up, expecting the same. I was wrong. The GT-10, for better or worse, has almost too many options, in that you have to shuffle through different screens and fields to get what you want. Stock sound on both solid state and tube amps w/Seymour Duncan PU's is very high in the mid-range, and very "tin" like quality. You'll spend a lot of time on the EQ section. Some of the emulated sounds, i.e. the Slayer presets are fairly close. Everything about the unit is great, just expect to spend alot of time tweaking and refining, as a large number of the sounds are in need of some TLC. Also, the volume level between presets can vary greatly. The unit is really well built, and heavy. Not sure if it'd survive a fall, but I'd have no issues taking it on the road.

WOW!!! Boss does it again...only better than ever. The Boss GT-10 is AMAZING! I've had it about 4 weeks and played it out on several gigs. It is easy to use in every. Simple to program, edit, move/copy, The looper works great for on the fly looping. Boss got everything right. The display is huge and easy to read. There are plenty of character spaces to name your custom patches. When using the Tuner the name of the note you are tuning is very large and easy to read even in the dark. I haven't used it yet for an outdoor gig so I don't know about sunlight visibility. Lastly, the sound is incredible!!! need i say more. The best multi-effects unit I've ever owned.I'll end the way I started....WOW!!!

This has a huge feature set and allows fairly deep programming. Watch the demos on you tube and you will notice they are predominately guitar god solos (even a few big hair holdovers at shows). I bought this assuming one could program a natural sound as I love the synergy of my guitars and tube amps and just wanted a multi-effect/looper to simplify performance patch changes. There is no way to get an uncolored signal path with this thing (which may not be a problem if you do not like the real sound of your guitar or amp or play with so much distortion even a banjo would sound like a violin). The effects are lifeless compared to the real thing and not as good an emulation as others. Maybe this unit just doesn't get along with my amps (Fuchs, Vox, Swart, Messa Boogie) but if I had no amp and it was the only choice, I would probably play my Tele or 335 unplugged. Really!

This is a very versatile multi-effects unit. It sounds more natural than the GT-8 and has many features. The distortion boxes sound good. The amp modeling is good. I like the knobs on the GT-8 better because it was more like using stomp boxes. The effects buttons are very bright which makes the labels hard to read. The effects are awesome! It looks cool, too!

I have owned the Boss GT-10 for a few months now. I originally was swayed into buying it as it costs too much to buy individual effects and the fact that it has a built in looper is a huge bonus. You can play it through an amp but it takes some tweaking to make sure that it sounds decent... But I use it through my bands P.A. system and it sounds great especially with stereo effects... I also use it to record and it sounds amazing recording direct with the pedal... For me the looper and all the different effects that you can get at a turn of the wheel help inspire me to make music that I never would have without the effects... I sold 3 or 4 of my individual pedals which never sounded as good when I put them in chain with each other... The Boss GT-10 effects are head and shoulders above the competition, the amp sampling is decent but its the effects that make the pedal special. So if your looking for something that will help you make music and allows you to create your own effects chains without a mess and within minutes this is the pedal for you.
