"Excellent addition to the Boss Metal Zone MT-2"

This effects pedal from Boss is an equalizer used to basically control the frequencies of your guitar's sound. I found it extremely useful in finding a good guitar tone. For example, with this I can finally control the tone of my chorus pedal, and completely control the tone of my Boss Metal Zone. As a result it made the distortion much warmer, and still gave it the extra "oomph" that the Metal Zone is known for.I find this pedal as an essential tool to add to your collection of stompboxes, and is surprisingly easy to use, even without the manual. The hissing "issue" is not the pedal's fault. When you boost the frequencies, you are basically boosting the "hissing" frequencies. Even the most expensive EQ on the planet will do that. The hissing is very light, but more obvious on single coil pickups. If it really bugs you then get the Boss noise compressor.

I thought it would be a laugh to buy this Equalizer...it puts the OOMPH into my sound! You can customize it for anything, and with the additional volume, its perfect for solo's (just so that you can be heard better over the rest of your band.. but the actual EQ is brilliant... it lets your solo channel be different from your rhythm, with a subtle, or even a major difference in sound..Overall...quite fantastic, well worth the price its for...I'm actually surprised its this cheap..cause its worth a lot more!

"You don't need a Mega Distortion or Metal Zone with this pedal!"

This pedal is exactly what I've been looking for since I started playing, because for me I don't want any overdrive or distortion pedals with extra added E.Q. So I use a boss OD-3 and the Boss DS-1 pedals for all my basic guitar tones. Now when you add the GE-7 EQ pedal, from having this pedal with the overdrive and distortion you really can shape any sound that you need! From a lot of experience I've realized that all you need is an amazing guitar and an amazing amp and an E.Q pedal. I mainly use the EQ pedal to boost my sound, I put the volume on full and then put it first in the effects chain, with distortion it turns the sound into a beautiful saturated fuzz tone similar to Hendrix. The only other pedals I use in my setup are a Wha Wha and delay. It's took me 8 years of playing to find my tone!

I haven't had this pedal for long, but it's already been a great addition to my rig. It really helps the overall tone and fattens up my distortion. It does make a humming or buzzing noise when engaged, so I'm planning on getting a Smart Gate to help with that. My amp isn't that great either, so that doesn't help the situation. Overall, I'm satisfied and plan on always having it when I play.

Great for getting the tone that you can't get from turning the nobs on your amp. You can leave the petal on for the same tone, or switch it on during parts where you want to possibly add more bass or eliminate mids....Overall a great pedal.
