This review may be a tad premature, but I thought I should share my own experiences anyway. I originally purchased my Blue Mikey for a 30GB iPod Photo, but even though Apple calls it a "Classic", Blue says that it's not supported. I purchased a nano, which is by far the best iPod to use since its flash drive has no moving parts. I returned the nano because I was able to get a 30GB iPod Video (also running ver. 1.3) working and have used it on two occasions, each time with the same issue: every few seconds I hear a brief noise in the recording. I'm guessing this is from the moving parts within the internal hard drive of the iPod (hence, the recommendation to go with nano). BTW, I am able to record up to 1.5 hours (about 1GB) on my iPod. Other than the periodic noise, the audio quality is excellent.

This is a great product for anyone who wants to do good quality recordings for low cost. As an add-on to the iPod, it's great. 3 gain levels eliminates just about all clipping. The speaker on the back is pretty much useless (might as well use your earbuds because you need to put it up to your ear to hear it). Only issue I have with it is that it seems to be a battery hog (but I don't know if it's my iPod or not, see if anyone else had the same problem). I'm getting less than 1hr of recording time...not so good for songwriting sessions or seminars. Overall, I have no problems with it. The mic is super clear and clean (the quality you'd expect from Blue). If you want something a bit better quality, go with a product designed for the job.
