I really like this amp and cab! I play with my son a drummer and at or close to full volume the sound is amazing! It is load enough to jam with a drummer. To have this sound for the price is a real special deal. I'm not as happy with it at low volume levels, it is OK but without any stomp boxes it's a kind of weak clean without much sustain. I'm sure there are boxes that would fix this though, I just go to my Line 6 Flextone for that. I'm hooked though, you just gotta let your Blackheart breath!
Really a tremendous value for the money. Tones are very good although slightly limited. No problem though, just put a few pedals in front of it. Switchable power gives more versatility to people who can't always play at full volume. Good construction from a new quality company.
Getting back into guitar after many years away I was looking for a small practice amp with a smooth sound. When I started reading reviews of the Blackheart I was intrigued. The sound clips posted online sounded exactly like the tone I was seeking. Backordered but definitely worth the wait. Great chimey cleans and smooth as butter overdrive. If you're worried that 5W may not be enough, this thing is plenty loud for anything except large gigs or a maniacal drummer. Blackheart is the new king of affordable boutique amps.
Wow, I'm blown away. Everybody's already raved about the tone, but this thing is loud. I'm not playing out anymore, but I would feel totally comfortable doing club gigs with it. Probably couldn't crank it all the way in clubs either. You could do larger venues miked, but with what these things cost you could get two and run 'em both. Can't recommend enough for the price.
It is a great recording amp for the tone which is more classic rock sounding. I see where they are all going up
