I needed an affordable cable tester and this fits the bill perfectly. However, the battery compartment cover is secured by one little screw that was so tightly screwed I could not get it out in any way. I had to open up the whole unit and use needle nose pliers to unscrew it from the bottom. Now, I use gaff tape to secure the battery compartment cover and unit works fine.
