This Mic will do it all, whether in the studio or live you won't be disappointed. Even if your Kick drum is lacking some punch, this mic will find it and then some!

I put this mic in the middle of the space my brother's bass drum without using a resonant head and we got a sound that is similar to the bass in commercial rap music. Very deep and thick, but this is only audible in an eq. Without the bass emphasized in an eq it sounds like a beebop drum. We also recorded bass with this mic and it really picked up the bass frequency with sharp attack of the strings on top, similar to the sound of Fieldy's bass on the first Korn album. Without bass boost the bass still sounded good, instead of just being twangy you get a nice full gritty bass sound, at least with our setup.
