I couldn't really ask for much more from these, I only have a bedroom studio but I know headphones, and these beat anything I've had before. The balance is perfect, very comfy, and I'm now using a second set of these for dj'ing too. in a word; perfect

I'm not an audiophile, and have very limited experience with these things. I did my research before buying these headphones and the headphones are indeed a very high quality pair as far as design and build. The sound reproduction is also most pleasing. They're also comfortable except for the fact that I tend to get quite warm around the ears, something I don't really like. I think any closed headphone will do that to me.

You can't beat the price on these, the sound is true and accurate. I use them to mix down audio files where flat accuracy is necessary. I can really hear the extended bass range with out it being boomy or "enhanced". The closed ear construction blocks out extraneous noises, they are padded well and not too heavy. I wear eyeglasses and they fit very comfortably.

First off I read a lot of reviews on these headphones before buying 2 pair. One site has some bad reviews but I looked carefully at the people and experience who reviewed. Here is my un-biased review. I have found these headphones th be the smoothest and most accurate of the other 5 pairs I own. The others in my studio vary from "base enhanced" phones to Koss Pro4A's. I have never been to fond of the Koss Pro4's from the 60's and even now. Somehow they seem to lack presence and fit to tightly on my head. That also makes my glasses feel uncomfortable. Because I am recording more vocalists and need more headphones in my basement studio, I was looking for comfort and quality. I found it with these. Other sites have reviewers commenting that the bass response is weak. I have to assume they are accustomed to "bass enhanced" headphones. The bass is there and it is deep and accurate. When they first arrived I connected them to everything I had that had a headphone jack. From portable cassette player to $30 boom box. Sound was right there. Everything I tested with sounded as good as I expected. Followed by A B testing with the Koss headphones made me more convinced the ATH-M40fs were better. However, it is very important to understand that human hearing varies drastically between individuals and much of it is perceived taste. Thus I was pleasantly surprised the vast majority of reviewers rated these headphones five stars. They deserve it!

I have been a sound technician at my church for around 6 years. When I started out running sound, we had this exact pair of headphones. As I started listening to them, they really amazed me with the clarity of their sound, and their excellent bass. With a frequency range of 5hz - 28khz, there isn't a chance you'll miss any part of your music! An excellent "test song" is 'Random Act of Love' by Al Jarreau because of the intense bass throughout the song. Seriously folks, if you want a pair of inexpesive headphones that sound great, this is the pair you've been looking for. Give them a try. I'm positive you won't regret it. Oh, I almost forgot - they are extremely comfortable too!
