Ashdown MAG 600H EVO II Bass Amp Head
Bigger brother to the MAG300 model, the Ashdown MAG 600H bass amplifier head features a potent, fan-cooled 575W RMS power section. Rotary bass, mid, and treble controls are supplemented by smaller rotary controls, providing 15dB of cut and boost at 220Hz and 1.6kHz, making it a comprehensive 5-band EQ section. Additionally, front panel push switches for Bright and Deep settings provide instant access to either punchy, attacking or warm, rounded sounds. For enhanced low-end response, the MAG 600H has Ashdown's acclaimed subharmonic generator, so it's ready to take your tone on a deep dive. Inputs are provided for active and passive instruments, and the front panel also features an effects send and return, a tuner/line output, and a balanced DI output for direct connection to a mixing console.

I was looking to lighten my load when it came to lugging equipment around. This little tyke weighs about 20 lbs. and took the place of a Fender BxR300C which weighs a ton. I push a Fender 4x10 cab and the range is excellent. I will probably add a 1x15" cab at some point, but for small club gigs, this does the trick.

I bought this amp because I wanted a smaller, lighter amp but with a decent amount of power. The sound is not clean at all. I sent the first one back, got another one and it is the same. This is a good amp if you're just playing loud rock or metal, but if you need a good clean sound this amp doesn't do it. I ran a line from the line out to a power amp and got a clean sound that way, so the distortion must be in the power section of the amp. Features [eq, compressor, octave conrol, etc. ] are good. If you don't mind a gritty sound this amp is great.
