Just bought this amazing instrument 2 weeks ago. It is an amazing instrument for such a great price. The plastic roundback really projects the amazing warm sound and blasts away any other Uke I have heard and I know what good is. The amazing uke and plugin are such a great price and I would highly recommend this instrument to any instrument lover who want a new exotic sound.

I just picked up this uke a few days ago and it blew me away. amazing tone plugged in and acoustic. I've always wanted to learn guitar but my fingers are to fat. i had to play bass. but with this uke that is not the case. i highly recomend it to those who want a new sound.

This uke has a very sweet, rich tone. Hook it up to an amp and you get an even sweeter tone. It has wonderful action, and is loud enough to hold it's own in a jam session.

The acoustic tone is acceptable. Not a plastic toy for sure. I have two other koa wood ukes. My band mates have several more. All sound a little different. Every one can be set up to sound different, depending upon string type, string set up, and tuning used. Craftsmanship on this instrument is tops. Looks are way over the top. For the price, this uke will hold its own. the electronics are too simple to say outstanding - its ok. You need to adjust it further with the amp eq to get the tone you want. On-board electronics mean a whole lot less feedback while performing though, compared to miking the instrument and that helps a lot. I would recommend buying it, no doubt.

I love this Uke. i have had a few before and this is great for travel, playing with an amp, and recording. I have had Ovation/Applause instruments since they first came out in the 70's and have never been disappointed.

This is my first ukulele, but I believe it to be pretty solid. Seems like it slipped out of tune a lot the first day or so I had it, but is fine now. I bought an amp to go with it and would argue that it actually sounds better when plugged in versus acoustic.

"BUY THIS UKULELE!"

Hobbyist, 1.5 years, play with a group for fun and local gigs Hawaiian-traditional and Hapa Haole, Folk, Oldies San Francisco, CA

I bought this as a second ukulele to take on vacations and local outings with friends and just got it today. When I first opened the box I thought "boy, these strings look like fishing line," but after I tuned it up, I decided to leave them on. I don't have an amp yet, and while it doesn't sound anything like my solid koa soprano, it's fine - just different and a little sweeter than my koa. It's also seriously cute. I really like the multi-soundhole design - in fact, that was one of the things that drew me to this uke. Bottom line: UAE20 met all my criteria. Small and lightweight - perfect for travel, nice unique styling, well-made and looks like it will last a long time, and the price was right.

Mines neva come my house yet but the thing still shipping but bra this bugga is mean Cuz my fren get one like this and man, this thing kick. If you're looking for the full on traditional sound then wrong uke cuz this has more of an acoustic/more bassy(depends if you tune high or tune low) and the best thing about it is that it comes with pickup (if you were to buy one and have them install would cost around 50-100$ at music stores) and EQ i believe. This is good because has a rugged back and it feels real sturdy and my friend had his for about... 3-4 years and it doesnt even have a scratch on it and he brings it everywhere. Beach, back of the truck, cruising, school, my house, parties, everywhere and its still good condition. He also plays for a very active band working on their album and this is all he uses and the sound is still there. He's still using the same strings when he first got it too.. this uke overall is pretty good at one mean price. This is no kamaka so dont expect the world, but expect greatness .. fo sho !!

This is the best deal ever. This is as nice a soprano uke as I've ever played. Comparable in terms of the neck and action to the Martin s-o. nothing special about the electronics, but it doesn't feed back when plugged in. If you've played the Flea ukulele, it's very similar, only with a wood fingerboard and a more playable body type. An unbelievable deal.
