"Nice practice amp, but..." by Randy Crittenden

The BA-112 is a nice little bass amp for practice and small room gigs. I purchased it because it was advertised as having a balanced XLR line out so I planned to use it for bigger stage work by plugging into the sound system via the XLR plug and use the amp itself as a stage monitor for myself (it tilts back perfectly for that purpose.) To my surprise, the line out is (1/4") unbalanced so I must now go through a direct box. It is easier to haul my big amp. Ampeg should change its product description to indicate this shortcoming. Other than that, it is a pretty nice amp if you're not looking for a window rattler.

Hey All,
I've had one of these for about a year now, and play my Ric, Fender twelver, and Strat through it, and it compliments all those guitars nicely!
The 5 position detail switch allows for a wide range of tuneage!
I've purchased a few items from 123 and I dig this place! Thanx all!
-Arnie

"An ok Practice amp only" by Trib

Poor shielding make this amp use less for any live playing or recording. Forget adding any effects units. It is noisy even for practice. I just cant find a place to stand to keep it from bussing and humming, regardless of what bass I use. Its back to my ampeg stack. Very under powered unless you have bass and mids wide open. I expected better from ampeg even if it is made in china. This is a great amp if you like a boxy, contained noisy practice amp.

I was lucky and found this amp for a great price, I have the option of returning it within a month if it doesn't fit my needs.NOT!! It's a keeper I've played two gigs with it, 1 indoor and the other outside and, it's all that. Sounds great, performs wonderfully. It's better than hauling around my 4x10 and head. I'll leave that to the larger venues.

"I Like It" by Sam L

I have had this amp for about 6 months now and I like it a lot. It is loud and produces a wide variety of sounds. One of the best features of this amp is that it has a plug where you can connect your CD player to the amp, so you can play along to the music. This is great for me, when the band is not around, it is easy to play. Great all around amp, though like all bass amps, it is heavy, so a cart is suggested if you are moving it.
