The sound quality of this guitar given the smaller body is amazing. The low end of the guitar and the projection are great. It is also comfortable to play given the smaller body. If you're looking for beginner to intermediate or even advanced player guitar, this is a good choice.
I have been on the guitar merry-go-round for the past 2 months trying to find a new guitar. I have purchased the Alvarez RC20SC, the Takamine G330S, and now I am on to the Alvarez AF60S. Let me say, for the record, it is the best. I have been playing for about 7 years and this guitar is one of the best I have played. Its smaller size takes a little getting used to, but the sound is wonderful. I am very pleased with the results from it. It does lack the big bass booms of the Takamine dreadnought, but it is a much more balanced and crisp sound overall. In addition, the pearl inlay adds a touch of sophistication that the other two guitars sadly lacked. Overall, I would have to say a great value for some great sound.
Although a beginner, I have been perusing music stores for awhile. This guitar is hard to beat. I really have not found a better auditorium size guitar. It compares quite nicely to the best Martins I could find. I like the sound better than the Martin Signature Eric Clapton which was a rather somber sounding piece. I found a Martin Sustainable Wood guitar, made of cherry, that might have been sweeter, but not much. The size is perfect for me, a Dreadnought is a bit awkward for playing seated.
I've owned and played numerous guitars, many much more expensive than the AF60S.....but this is my favorite. The sound is great and the smaller manageable size makes it even greater. The extremely affordable price is icing on the cake. If this guitar cost two to three hundred dollars more it would still be a great buy.
