I recently purchased my cs60s as a back up for my Ramirez, which I use in our bluegrass gospel band. I find myself playing the Alvarez almost all my spare time. It has a very smooth mellow sound, and I would not trade it for one of twice the cost. I'm very satisfied with it, and highly recommend it for a journeymen musician. And it looks great.
I wanted a classical guitar to learn to play the more complex Latin music leads, and also for solo work at weddings and my own pleasure. Eventually broke out the credit card for this Alvarez....The Alvarez is easier to play, and makes me sound great. Nice warm sound and easy to finger.
This was my first stage guitar. I fell in love with its rich, full tenor sound that complimented my alto voice and made the most simple of chords sound professional. With a pick up inserted in the sound hole, I had many musicians marveling at its sound.
Getting back into guitars, I've looked for smaller than dreadnought size with a nice sound. My memory of classical guitars was that my hands aren't big enough. Not with this one. The action is easy and low, with no buzzing. Attractive and simple with a nicer size advantage (I'm fairly small), and I'm tired of playing AROUND the guitar. This one fits.
I learned how to play with this one. Has a soft sound and a wide neck so it is easy play. Sounds very good solo. If you are learning the basics of guitar or have been playing for years and want a smooth sounding classical this one is great. The only problem is that it doesn't have a cut-out so if you want to play past the 12th fret you are going to have a hard time.
