While no one mute will serve all purposes this mute is a great addition to any collection. Not great at softer dynamics but great sound at higher volumes. When you need more of that straight mute bite this is at least one option to try.

If I were to have only one straight mute, the Vacchiano Straight Mute manufactured by LeBlanc would be that one. It has that great "metal straight mute" edge to its sound, and its intonation is superior to the other straight mutes on the market.

Very good mute for any volume between mezzo-piano and forte. Sound is nice, but tends to loose it¦s metallic character playing softer than mp. It can¦t cope with fortissimos either, but resistance and intonation are fine. One of the many mutes a professional trumpeter should have.
